Retail Partnerships Manager
Location
Pico Rivera, CA (on-site / hybrid)
Type
Full-time
About the role
You will own the relationship between AMAX and the retailers we work with. That means being the person buyers call back, the person brands trust to get them in the door, and the person who knows at any given moment what's listed, what's pending, and what's at risk. You will spend more time in buyer meetings, on store walks, and on calls with category managers than in front of a laptop.
What you'll actually do
- Pitch and negotiate listings with category buyers at national and regional U.S. retailers
- Build and maintain a working pipeline of active accounts: who's reviewing, who's expanding, and who's at risk of delisting.
- Translate brand-side commercial offers into formats U.S. buyers actually respond to: margin, velocity forecast, promo plan, slotting structure.
- Lead listing prep with the brands we work with, covering pricing, packaging compliance, promotional calendars, and retailer-specific requirements.
- Track sell-through using retailer portals (Retail Link, Partners Online, Vendor Central) and use the data as leverage in follow-up conversations.
- Coordinate with our operations team in California to ensure what gets sold gets delivered on time, every time.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in U.S. retail, CPG sales, or distribution, ideally on the supplier, broker, or distributor side, working directly with category buyers
- Existing relationships with buyers at one or more major U.S. retailers (Walmart, Target, Costco, Kroger, CVS, Albertsons, or similar)
- Working knowledge of Retail Link, Partners Online, or equivalent retailer portals
- Comfort with U.S. retail commercial math: margin structures, slotting fees, MCB, promo ROI, chargebacks. If trade terms and OTIF don't intimidate you, we want to talk.
- Sharp written communication. You'll be drafting line reviews, follow-ups, and listing proposals that need to land in a buyer's attention in 30 seconds.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Willingness to travel domestically for buyer meetings, line reviews, and trade shows
Why join AMAX
- International brand exposure. You'll work with CPG brands from Europe, Asia, and Latin America entering the U.S. market, building a network and track record that's hard to replicate elsewhere.
- Cross-functional reach. You'll work alongside teams handling EDI, ERP, warehousing, and logistics, which means your listings actually ship, on time, every time.
- Compensation that matches performance. Competitive base salary, performance bonus tied to listings secured and accounts retained, plus health benefits and PTO
